PREPAREDNESS SKILLS: COMMUNICATIONS
Introducing Meshtastic Off-Grid LoRa P2P Connectivity
Communications is an important preparedness skillset. Keeping in touch with family and friends, staying apprised of local/regional/national/global events, and being able to coordinate your response to an emergency is critical. Standard communication methods, such as voice over cellular networks, video over cellular networks, text messaging, and email, may not be functional or reliable during an emergency. These methods should be considered your central core or “day-to-day” communications. What happens when a situation develops where, hopefully temporarily, there is no available internet or cellular network. What is the next layer of communication in our preparedness toolkit?
